| Inland Revenue Department (IRD) is responsible for the collection of taxes and duties with the exception of Custom Duties, Stamp Duties and Transfer Taxes. IRD also provides a number of key services, including the ones listed below: |
IRD is responsible for the issuance of Motor Vehicle, Trade
and Hotel Licences. Fees for other licences such as Firearm,
Spirit, Betting Gaming & Lotteries are also collected. For additional

A Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN) is required of all persons, organizations, institutions, government bodies, and other entities transacting business with the Revenue Departments. This unique identification number can be obtained at all 28 Collectorates islandwide.
All persons engaged in a taxable activity are required to apply for registration under the GCT Act. Persons requesting GCT registration must first obtain a Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN). For additional information on GCT, click here.
This service is offered at selected Collectorates island-wide and involves the issuing of a Tax Compliance Certificate to individuals, organizations and other entities whose tax liabilities and wage related statutory deductions are up to date.
